Life News

What a turbulent year it has been, we have all found ourselves in circumstances we could never have imagined, a lot of our team have spent several months self isolating and meetings have taken place over video conference which has been new to a lot of us. As social distancing regulations have eased we have begun to safely meet and decide how we can move forward in these uncertain times. We want to thank you all for your continued support, for those that pray for us, give financially or volunteer their time.

The Parish Halls
We are delighted to announce that our level of regular giving, bank balance as well as a large personal financial gift means that we are in a position to move forward with the purchase of the Parish Halls. We are grateful for the patience the Parish Church have shown us over the past year as we have worked hard to raise the necessary funds to progress with the purchase.

We Need You
With the project now becoming a reality, we are in desperate need to expand our team. We are in need of people to sit on the following committees. Resources (Business and Finance), Buildings, Grants and Fundraising and Operational (Ministries, Supporters, partnerships, Collaborative Working, Customer Focus, Marketing and Catering).
We would also like to recruit someone to oversea our website, email and social media as well as someone to head up our grants and fundraising committee.
If you feel you can support the charity in any of these areas please contact Chris Walton our Secretary
Or if you just want a coffee and a chat about what would be involved, please contact Andy Evers at

Like all charities, Life has been impacted by Covid 19, it has meant that we have had to cancel fundraising events which are vital to raising much needed funds. We want to thank all those that took part in The Dronfield 10K earlier this year, for the runners and those that donated. It was very successful and raised £1346.73 for the charity. We hope to take part in the next Dronfield 10k if you are interested in running for us in the future, please get in touch to register your interest.
Thank you to those at St Pauls Church for their smartie tube donations this is such a great idea.
Thank you to Rob Aldred and all who were involved in the Lift Your Voices concert for donating £263 to Life Dronfield CIO.
Numerous other community groups, churches and many individuals have supported us financially over the past 2 years. A huge heartfelt thanks to you all, it is only down to your support that we are in the position to purchase the Parish halls, thank you.
As we try and navigate the future we are always looking for different ways to raise funds, if there is anyone within the community who would like to offer ideas or help with events then please get in touch.

Youth Work
There are plans in the pipeline to start socially distant detached youth work in the very near future (of course we will stick to the government guidelines at all times) As a lot of you know there are lots of bored young people hanging around in the parks in the evening. We plan to send a team out, meeting the kids where they are at and forging relationships with them so that when the building is up and running they will know us and have a safe place to hang out. If you would like to get involved in this then please contact Andy Evers at

Community Needs
We are constantly looking into ways in which we can serve the community, these needs are ever changing and growing with the impact Covid 19 has brought. If you have a need and you think Life Dronfield could support you with this then please get in touch.
