Family Support

We are privileged to be able to support numerous families across our town. In the past year, we’ve purchased a full school uniform for a young person, which included getting them all the equipment they would need for school. We were so blessed to watch them open up all their parcels and for them to tell us, it was better than Christmas.

Over the past couple of years we have offered daily support to a family who’s daughter was tragically murdered in Killamarsh in September 2021. Her girls Dad, Charlie wrote this to us:

Life Dronfield,

I would like to thank you for your wonderful continual support you have shown me throughout my most difficult time of my life.

From that moment 2 years ago I was sat down and told my daughter had been murdered alongside her friends in Killamarsh I have been living a real life nightmare that I just can’t seem to wake up from no matter how hard I try. It’s been a real struggle.

I would like to thank Life Dronfield from the bottom of my heart. What can I say?? If I hadn’t been introduced to you I genuinely don’t think I would be here to even write this. I’m not religious at all but you have been a God send. You have had my back from day one, in meetings with the police, solicitors, judges, our MP, The probation service and even the Deputy Prime Minister. You we’re there every day in court sat next to me supporting me through the trauma and now as I am trying get my life back sorted.

There are many magic stories from this awful tragedy some good and some bad. Life Dronfield have been there every step of the way. One of your trustees has completely welcomed me into their family like I was one of their own, even spending a large portion of their Christmas holidays with me and having me to spend Christmas Day with them and their family. This is despite them having a sick partner, but they make sure that they’re there for me when I am feeling really bad.

Seriously, I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for Life Dronfield, I can’t thank you enough for what you’ve done for me and what I know you will continue to do.

Charles Gent
